Waterjet propelled tender (Discovery class)
A waterjet propelled tender is used to drop off and pick up pilots from sea-going vessels. A waterjet propelled tender is larger and faster than a launch.

Helicopter
When weather conditions are so poor that neither launch nor tender can safely reach the vessel, pilotage will be suspended. In those cases the pilot helicopter will be available as the perfect alternative.
